The 5 things you didn’t know about fillers!

Fillers are ideal for naturally restoring a fresh and rested appearance to your face. Fillers have multiple purposes, for example to fill a Deep nose-lip fold, wrinkles on the upper lip, volume in the lips, but also to beautify the contours of your face. Such a filler treatment can, among other things, give you a less sunken face or a less tired look again! Even a non-surgical chin correction or rhinoplasty is among the possibilities. The basic things about fillers are often known and you can find a lot of information about them online these days, but you may well not have known these 5 things!

Instant results

Many people do not know that the effect of fillers can be seen almost immediately! However, the final result is not visible for about 4 to 6 weeks, as there may be some swelling after treatment. Are you going for a botox treatment? Then you have to be patient. This is because Botox has to take effect first and will show the final result after a maximum of two weeks.

Temporary fillers are soluble

Many people fear an unnatural result with fillers and the fact that you will be “stuck” with them for an extended period of time. A good cosmetic clinic will never use too much filler at one time, preserving the natural result. If the effect of a filler treatment with hyaluronic acid does not prove to be satisfactory, it is possible to have the temporary filler removed by treatment with hyalase. This is a very safe agent that allows the filler to dissolve. Fillers are also easy to locate with ultrasound, so you can see exactly where the filler is and take targeted action.

Permanent fillers have been banned since 2015

There used to be a distinction between temporary and permament fillers. Permanent fillers have not been allowed to be used for cosmetic purposes since 2015. The reason that permanent fillers have now been banned is because it caused many complications and problems in the long term. A lot of attention was paid to this in the media, which made many people afraid to start using fillers. Permanent fillers may still be used to repair damage to the body. For example, if that damage was caused by an accident. This is called “reconstructive application. At the Van Rosmalen Kliniek only temporary fillers are used, which are safe and after a longer period are broken down by the body itself.

Different types of fillers

What many people don’t know is that there are different types of fillers, each with its own consistency, so you can mimic different types of tissues. For example, you can mimic fat tissue to counteract a sunken face, but you can also mimic bone tissue for a sharper jawline. Thus, the Van Rosmalen Kliniek temporary fillers based on hyaluronic acid and collagen stimulators. Fillers made of hyaluronic acid are made of a substance native to the body, so there is virtually no chance of a tissue reaction. Collagen stimulators, such as Radiesse, stimulate the production of your own collagen in the skin. These collagen stimulators are often used to restore contours in your face, such as the jawline or chin, for example.

Treating hands, neck and cleavage

Due to regular sun exposure, the skin on the hands, neck and décolleté often ages faster. The neck and decollete are often forgotten in treatments and care (with a SPF) and therefore betray your age the quickest. In addition, these areas also contain fewer sebaceous and sweat glands. At the Van Rosmalen Kliniek you can use a filler treatment to counteract the aging of the skin on the hands, neck and décolleté. This can be done through a Skinbooster treatment with hyaluronic acid or treatment with a collagen stimulator, such as Radiesse. It is also possible to have the hands, neck and décolleté treated by the skin therapist using various techniques, such as a laser treatment!
