During skin aging, the number of collagen and elastin fibers decreases tremendously. Since the skin is mostly composed of collagen fibers, this results in sagging, thin and less elastic skin where lines easily remain. The decrease in collagen is influenced by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. These include nutritional deficiencies, physical activity, smoking, temperature/climate and UVA daylight. What many people do not know is that the filler Radiesse ® stimulates the production of collagen!
Collagen is responsible for the resilience and firmness of the skin. It is a protein that is made by fibroblasts and provides padding for the skin. Fibroblasts are thus responsible for the production of collagen and elastin fibers and thus also for the formation of support tissue. They are the most important cells in the skin and connective tissue and are mainly located in the dermis. Fibroblasts also play a major role in wound healing. When there is a wound in the skin, fibroblasts will multiply and fill the wound with new support tissue in the form of collagen and elastin. Through contraction, the skin grows back together. The skin makes its own collagen, but unfortunately this process slows down after the age of 25. When the production of collagen decreases, the skin becomes saggier and therefore shows more lines and wrinkles.
Radiesse® is one of the most widely used fillers and is used to improve skin texture, combat fine wrinkles, add volume to certain areas or add volume to areas where it has disappeared due to skin aging. This filler consists of a substance that is also found in our bones called calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). Radiesse® is used to inject deeper into the skin and is therefore suitable for restoring volume, a liquid facelift or fill deeper wrinkles. Consider people who have lost a lot of weight, have an athlete’s face, suffer from sunken cheeks, a retracted chin, sunken temples or a weak jawline. Usually a minimum amount of 3 ml works for small areas or young people and 6 to 9 ml for the whole cheek area or more volume loss.
Radiesse does not work on the basis of hyaluronic acid, but in a different way. Namely, it consists of two different components: a water-based gel and small spheres of CaHA. The gel gives immediate results, allowing you to leave the clinic without wrinkles, and under the influence of CaHA, fibroblast multiplication takes place. And due to an increase in fibroblasts, the amount of collagen in the skin will also increase. Therefore, the skin structure will improve and your skin will become more beautiful. Also, CaHA has a regulatory effect, causing rejuvenation of the skin. Up to three months after the treatment, the beneficial effects work on and last for 9-18 months.
The Confidence Booster GLOW treatments are a great start to addressing skin aging and/or supporting the skin with injectables. Not only the filler Radiesse provides collagen stimulation, skin therapy also has a part in this and is often used together for optimal results. By strengthening the mattress of the skin, the product is supported by your own skin, so you can enjoy it longer. With the Confidence Booster GLOW treatments and especially the Confidence Booster GLOW rejuvenation and GLOW anti-aging treatments, we work from the inside out to stimulate the fibroblasts, thus ensuring the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. For skin remodeling, we use a combination of deeper peelings and/or microneedling with radio frequency (RF). The Confidence Booster GLOW treatments are used for the total face, with a specific focus on problem areas. This allows you to work purposefully and efficiently!
