Fillers fall under the category of injectables. Most fillers – like the fillers in the Belotero® range – are based on the body’s own hyaluronic acid and will always be completely broken down again by your body. Due to their temporary nature, the effect will slowly diminish. 

With fillers, we can correct volume loss in the face and fill in wrinkles, causing them to fade or even disappear. The lines in your face become softer, fewer shadows fall on your face and you get a younger, fresher look. 

During a filler treatment, filler is injected into the skin through a cannula. A cannula is a hollow, blunt needle.  

Injection of a hyaluronic acid-based filler fills wrinkles, restores volume or hydrates the skin. It depends on the specific desire and the type of filler used during a filler treatment. 

Wrinkles occur due to loss of volume or decrease of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Belotero® injection prevents and corrects fine lines, deep lines and folds and creates volume. After injection, renewed hydration improves skin quality and restores volume loss.  

There are different types of fillers for different purposes. For example, there are fillers to restore lost volume in the skin, fillers to blur fine lines and fillers to hydrate the skin.  

Within the Belotero® range you will find the fillers Belotero® Revive, Belotero® Soft, Belotero® Balance, Belotero® Intense, Belotero® Volume, Belotero®Lips Shape and Belotero® Lips Contour.  

The injected filler may be felt under the skin for a short period of time just after treatment. Over time, the treated area feels soft and natural. In a few cases, small bumps may appear. Please report this to your cosmetic doctor if this is the case.  

A correction with Belotero® remains visible in most people between 6 and 12 months depending on the product used. The duration of effect can vary from person to person depending on age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.  

Botulinum toxin is the active ingredient in the drugs Botox® and Bocouture®. Because Bocouture® only contains the active ingredient and all non-active proteins have been filtered out, Bocouture® gives no risk of developing resistance. This allows you to enjoy a Botox treatment longer. The risk of an allergic reaction is also minimal with Bocouture®. This while having the same aesthetic effect as another brand of botulinum toxin.  

Botulinum toxin is a protein produced by the bacteria Clostridium Botulinum. It causes your muscles to relax temporarily by blocking stimulus transmission from a nerve to a muscle.  

Botox is injected in highly diluted form into the muscles responsible for such things as frown lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles in your forehead. The muscle activity becomes temporarily less powerful in the treated area. As a result, fine lines disappear and deep wrinkles fade away. A botox treatment can even prevent wrinkle formation in this way. Over time, muscle activity increases again and the muscle recovers completely.
