What can you do about your crow’s feet?

Even though laugh lines are often considered a friendly display, many people want to soften crow’s feet and reduce lines. Especially when they remain when you’re not smiling. Skin aging around the eyes can give a tired look, and in addition, makeup quickly stays in the lines, accentuating wrinkles. Recognizable? Fortunately, there is something you can do about it!

How do crow’s feet appear?

Crow’s feet are partly caused when you laugh a lot! When you are young, these laugh lines are temporarily visible, only you will notice that they unfortunately do not disappear later in life. In general, the skin on our face ages faster because it is exposed more often to external influences. When you are young, the skin is still elastic and wrinkles and folds are straightened when you relax your face. In your mid-20s, the flexibility of the skin decreases and the skin weakens, causing permanent laugh lines. Skin aging is partly under your own control, since the skin will age faster in someone who, for example, smokes and spends a lot of unprotected time in the sun. In addition, you also have to deal with genetic factors.

What can you do about crow’s feet?

Prevention is better than cure, except not smiling anymore is not an option! Everyone will experience crow’s feet sooner or later. However, a healthy lifestyle and good skin care can ensure that they do not appear until later in life. Luckily, there are several ways to reduce the appearance of laugh lines, such as botox and/or filler treatments, microneedling, laser treatments and the use of the right skincare products.

Botox and filler treatments for crow’s feet

A Botox® treatment is a quick and effective way to reduce crow’s feet and soften deep laugh lines. Laugh lines create facial expressions, so it is very important to achieve natural results and not lose your charm. When you smile, strong muscle activity of the eye ring muscle occurs. The delicate skin around the eyes is attached to the eye-ring muscle and folds. When the lines remain with a relaxed face, many people often choose to have a treatment. Botox® treatment for crow’s feet and eye wrinkles involves using a very thin needle to inject the substance botulinum toxin into the muscles around the eyes, causing the muscles to temporarily relax and the skin around the eyes to calm down.

Laser treatments and microneedling

Our collagen decreases as we age, which causes the skin’s elasticity to decrease and the skin to become thinner. The use of laser treatments can slow this process by stimulating small blood vessels to produce connective tissue and collagen. In addition, another effective weapon against skin aging is microneedling with RF. This involves inserting ultra-thin needles into the skin, which causes collagen production and subcutaneous tightening. Often these treatments are used for the entire face.

Skincare for the eyes

By properly moisturizing the skin around your eyes, you can delay the display of crow’s feet for longer. The more flexible the skin is, the easier the smile lines will return to smooth skin. That’s why it’s important to invest in good skin care products (cosmeceuticals) such as SkinCeuticals’ AOX Eye Gel. This gel stimulates collagen production and corrects fine lines. Also, the Intramedics Emmagen serum can slow down the aging process and provide firm skin around the eyes. In addition, always protect your skin from the sun with the SkinCeuticals Mineral UV Eye Defense.
